Kimro

Coming soon · iPhone

Your apps stay blocked. Earn them back, a minute at a time.

Kimro is a screen time app built on one trade. The apps you pick stay blocked by default. A focus session earns credits. Credits buy unlock time. When the window closes, everything locks again.

Kimro is still in development. There is nothing to download yet — this page is here so you know what is coming.

Focus Card

45credits

= 45m screen time

Kimro Wallet

Four steps. Then the same four again.

  1. Pick what to block

Choose the apps and categories you want out of reach. Kimro keeps them blocked by default — not on a schedule, not until you tap “ignore”.

  2. Focus to earn

Start a session and put the phone down. Every completed minute of focus earns one credit.

  3. Withdraw your time

Spend credits when you want an app back. The balance on your card is the number of minutes you can open.

  4. The window closes

When the unlock expires, everything locks again on its own. Back to step two.

The rate

One minute earned. One minute spent.

No exchange rate. No points, no gems, no coins at a rate you have to look up. A credit is a minute, in and out, and your balance always shows you the minutes it is worth.

You focus for

1 minute

You earn

1 credit

It unlocks

1 minute

1:1

Other apps in this category are open about charging a margin — ten minutes of focus for five minutes of app time. Kimro does not take a cut. What you earn is exactly what you can spend.

Credits are earned, never bought. There is no in-app purchase that adds minutes to your balance, and credits have no cash value of any kind.

Enforcement

Most blockers ask you to be honest. Kimro asks your phone.

Motion detection

In a monitored session your phone watches for movement. Pick it up and you take a strike — there is no button that makes that go away.

AR lock box

Scan the room and place your phone inside a virtual lock box to start. This mode is experimental: results depend on your device and your surroundings.

Failing costs the session

Credits are banked when a session completes, not while it runs. Reach your strike limit and the session is forfeit. Three strikes by default — you can set it to one, or to five.

The stake is the whole point. A timer you can dismiss is just a timer.

Privacy

We never see what you block.

Kimro uses Apple’s Screen Time API. We never see which apps you block or how you use them. Everything stays on your device.

That is not a promise we are asking you to take on faith. It is a property of how the app is built.

The API hands us tokens, not names
Apple gives the app opaque handles instead of app identities. Inside Kimro, a blocked app’s bundle identifier and display name simply read as empty. There is nothing to send, even if we wanted to.
Your block list never leaves the phone
It lives in the app’s local container on your device. It is not uploaded, not synced to us, not shared with anyone.
No advertising, no third-party SDKs
The blocking extensions make no network requests and link no third-party code. Kimro is paid for by an optional subscription, not by your attention.
This site has no trackers
No analytics, no advertising pixels, no cookies, nothing loaded from a third-party domain. If that ever changes, you will be asked first.
